Meet tabitha switzer, mftc
It’s time to enjoy your marriage again.
I’m a Colorado Springs-based therapist who specializes in marriage counseling for Christian couples.
please Hear me when I say:
Needing help doesn’t mean you’re a weak Christian. It means you’re strong enough to seek the help you need.
I want you to know that it's completely normal to need help sometimes. As a marriage counselor, I work with couples just like you—couples who have the strength and the ability to overcome obstacles, reignite the love they share, and build the joyful, fulfilling marriage they both deserve. My goal is to equip you with the tools and strategies you need to reconnect and create the lasting, loving relationship you've always wanted.
How I work
At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that we are intentionally designed for relationship.
Do you remember the days when you were deeply in love with your spouse? Would you like a clear path to rediscover that joy and build the safe, fulfilling marriage your heart desires?
In sessions with me, I help couples just like you: ones that have it within them to overcome obstacles, implement what needs to be done to reach their goals, and create the marriage they want by equipping them with the tools they need to love each other well.
Many resources available to Christian couples today often overlook the importance of faith in the healing process, leaving many to feel that their therapist doesn't fully understand the central role that God's design for marriage plays in their relationship. I understand that your situation is unique, which is why I approach our work together with great care, always considering the sacred covenant you've made—not only with each other, but with God. Your faith is an integral part of the healing journey, and I am committed to honoring that as we work to strengthen and restore your marriage.
First, I take time to fully understand the issues you're facing and explore any past experiences that may be influencing behaviors in your relationship today. Then, we focus on developing effective communication skills so that deeper concerns can be shared and understood with clarity moving forward. We’ll also dive into understanding attachment styles and your unique Reactive Cycle. By the end of our work together, you’ll be equipped with the tools and insights needed to not only overcome challenges, but to truly thrive in your relationship.
Therapy with me is…
-
My training in couples and family therapy equips me with the expertise to help you heal and strengthen your marriage. But more than that, I understand the unique challenges of a Christian marriage. You want to work with someone who truly ‘gets’ what it means to navigate struggles while staying grounded in faith—and that’s exactly what I bring to our work together.
-
I get it because I’ve been in a Christian marriage for over 17 years. I know that, even when your spouse is the person you love most in the world, it’s not always easy to show love and kindness. That’s why, when we work together, you won’t just have a trained therapist on your side—you’ll have someone who truly understands what it takes to invest in and work through the challenges of marriage.
-
Many times, behaviors like withdrawing in a relationship are rooted in deeper hurts. Together, we’ll explore these underlying wounds and understand how they’re impacting your relationship today, so you can heal and move forward with greater connection.
